And when you consider it was a non-ranking pissabout, even more impressive.

He'll win it. Either way he'll make the final I think. Hard court is his best surface, he's beaten the best going into the tournament. Who would bet against him?

Me because he's still a Brit at the end of the day and Fed/Djok/Nadal will knock him over.

I think he's got as good a chance as any this year, but it won't be a disaster if he doesnt win a slam. Djokovic has still only won one slam hasn't he?

It'll be Djok/Tsonga/ or Murray in final. Fed and Nadal will go out in quarters and semis.

BBC usually cover the Aussie Open, but they do a sly one and put it on 301/302.

whilst he's had a very impressive year and has developed far better than i thought he would after his initial promise seemed to fade, i still agree with CB that winning some noddy tournaments is not the same as a grand slam and i can see him being the usual plucky brit (scot when he loses, naturally) who comes back into a losing game to have a chance only to then lose it meekly, either that or just get blown away and use the old "2 games in 3 days is tiring " get out clause.

Looking like he's about to beat Federer again, can't ask for more than that.
2009 looks very promising for him.

Another impressive win, but in a minor tournament. The one that counted Fed bitch slapped Murray.

I can assure Masters events aren't "noddy" tournaments. All of the best are present there and he's won two of them last year.

I think CB should change his notion so it actually looks at onlookers. Have some faith! He's a Scot after all ... er ....

A minor tournament? Didn't the top 2 players in the world enter?
And I seem to recall in "the one that counted" Murray bitch slapping the world number 1.

Five wins out of seven against Federer (six out of eight if you count the exhibition last week). Psychologically, that can only be good news.

I used t think Murray was a whiny twat back when I saw him at wimbledon in 2005 and 2006. Saw him again in centre court in his epic match against Gasquet. He completely won me over with his character and tennis that day.

After beating Federer twice in the last week regardless of how minor the tournament is, 2009 looks a very promising year for Murray! Bring on the Aussie Open!!!!

That's exactly when he won me over. Was a Tim Henman through and through until then

Crazy atmosphere that day, Centre Court was on fire! Pretty sure I got on TV a couple of times during that match . Kinda felt sorry for Gasquet!

Gonna try and get tickets myself for this year.
Hopefully my club will get an allocation but if that fails is it done by ballot or just a normal first come first served purchase?

Federer wasn't brilliant in slams his first few years either, it takes a bit of time for most folk. Yeah there's always exceptions like Nadal and his French record but it's looking more and more likely Murray can win a slam.

The ballot application forms deadline has passed (was last day of last year). When I went last year and in 2006 I queued up overnight to get centre court tickets!

Might seem a bit of a hassle but it's well worth it. Once you get you're queue card you can pitch your tent and come back later, there's usually stuff to do in Wimbledon village and at night it can be quite lively (especially when it was the world cup in 2006!!!) if you're willing to walk a few miles. Pretty sure I'm doing it again this year.

Things to remember are:
1. You won't be able to do this on the last 4 days of Wimbledon.
2. You'll want to get there by 3 p.m. the day before so you're in the first 500 people queuing to guarantee Centre Court tickets. Though if you're 550 you should be ok depending on who's playing on centre court/court 1 the day you're going for).
3. Bring your tent, sleeping bag, warm clothes, change of clothes and toiletries as there are toilets available for you to use.
4. Also bring some kind of entertainment. The area is fairly safe and there are wardens on patrol at night, so no real problems in terms of security.

However if you're tennis club can get tickets I'd take that but queuing is well worth it.

Wiped the floor with Roddick, who wasn't playing badly at all.
