New TV - 2015

Are there any new TV series, starting in 2015, that show promise or have potential?

If you haven't started watching Gotham yet, do. I'm 6 Eps in and it's excellent.

Heard lots of good things about Marco Polo from Americans that I play Eve with.

No idea what the new year holds but Enfield and Whitehouse spent and hour reminding everyone who the daddies are last night. Found it all damn funny but utterly lost my shit at The Killing.

Marco Polo.

Doesn't seem to have went down that well with critics but I really enjoyed this. Some parts were a bit slow but overall it was a good watch. Nice fights, scenery and some of the acting is pretty good. main character portrayal is a tad boring tho, needs a bit of work

Seconded. Im 10 episodes in and its genuinely pretty damned good. Not too keen on some of the casting choices, but it gets away with it by being so well written.

The cast is pretty good I thought. Ryan from the OC has improved quite a lot in the last decade as an actor, but it's really made by Robin Lord Taylor, Donal Logue and while Sean Pertwee is no Michael Caine (who is), his is a good, believable interpretation of Alfred too, suitably protective yet deferent to the young Bruce Wayne, with the skills you would expect from Batman's Batman.

I get the impression they were trying to follow the popularity of the movies and find an Alfred who was like young Michael Caine rather than young Alfred. Not a bad stab if so.

A lot of the cast is very good, but some of it is a really weird choice. The guy playing Jim Gordon just doesnt seem right for the part to me. Hes a decent enough actor but he just doesnt fit that particular part, although I must admit that I cant put my finger on why.

I do love Sean Pertwee, but he just doesnt work as Alfred. I get they were going for somebody younger than Michael Caine or Michael Gough, but his voice just doesnt fit the "butler" character. I get that theres more to the character than just a butler, but it still doesnt quite work for me. They needed more of a Benedict Cumberbatch type actor imo.

Jada Pinkett Smith is just shit.

Im not slagging off the entire cast, as there are some really good castings. Bullock, Selina Kyle, Penguin (He may not fit the traditional physical description, but he is sinister enough to make the character work in that sense), Ed Nygma, Bruce Wayne (That scream when his parents are killed sent the biggest fucking chill down my spine) Falcone and Maroni are all great casts.

first episode a shocker, pertwee is acceptable as alfred after the initial shock and enjoyable now other than wondering which eejit hired pinkett smith. crimes and who-dunnits are distracted by where's her tits gone, there they are, there they aren't boobnanigans.

he's not a weak man in the face of overwhelming crime trying to do good, he's shininess with hint of mong.

Marvel's Agent Carter isn't too bad. I was pleasantly surprised it had a link to Iron Man 2 with Anton Vanko. I'll watch the rest of it considering it's only going to be 8 episodes long.

Minority Report gets a pilot show. No Cruise, thank fuck;

Plenty of scope for it to be merely CSI: Tha Futyah, though...

Hayley Atwell isn't exactly hard on the eyes either.
