Aye, must have been close to breaking if he was able to play the second half

Tackles of that nature can easily break ankle or legs. Based on that alone, it's a red.

It was reckless. There is no place in today's football for a flying lunge like that in that part of the pitch.

I'd say most leg breaking challenges are fairly innocuous. The Eduardo leg-breaker was a nothing challenge. If you want to start sending people off for those, you kill the game.

For abit of neutrality. Wiltshire made a two footed over the ball lunge against Hungary in the week - an actual 'leg breaker' challenge. Yellow card.

I'm not talking about "leg-breaking tackles", I'm talking about reckless tackles. Eduardo's was a nothing tackle, but that doesn't make Cole's challenge any less dangerous, the two are completely unrelated.

Your justification for the red is that Cole could of broke his ankle/leg. Based on what, any challenge could break a ankle/leg (case: Eduardo). So when is a challenge reckless and when is it not.. if the player lunges and doesn't make boot on shin contact I don't see the problem.

Most leg breaking challenges I've seen are from people sliding it to block the ball when its cleared from the corners. I guess because the players tend to put all there weight on their standing foot making clearances, rather than due to any intent from the tackler. Still, I don't really get why players do it, the other team still gets a throw-in, you risk injuring the player/yourself. Lose lose situation.

The "leg break" challenge theory is bollocks imo. Like you said, every tackle is a potential leg breaker, every step is a potential ligament snapper! Bullshit.

Cole slid in, missed the ball, took the player out, flipped him. Red card. End of.

Anyway, even Liverpool agree now. No appeal.

Good signing for Cardiff, even if he is a massive cunt he's by miles the best player in the championship.

I think it's a ridiculous signing for him. Going to the championship why now? If Milner has gone to City for 30m then it is a gross overpayment. Ozil to RM - Jesus, why don't Real just sign every top player and have done with it?

R.E Anelka, he quit anyway, so why will he care?

Maybe Bellamy just wants to play football and be near his family? He could have quite easily sat out the remaining few years of his contract, happily cashing the cheques for 90,000 a week.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't getting the same money now as before. City are probably paying over half his paycheck.

Football gets weirder each year. As for Real Madrid, they had to do something to stop Barca's reigning spell in Spain and with one of the worlds best managers at the helm, they are taking the gamble now and hoping to be the best team in Spain for the next 5 years.

They'll be good value I think, but it'll take them a couple of months to get going. They just need to make sure they haven't blown it by then.

15k a week is 60k a month, that's 720k a year. i'm fairly sure that he'll still be able to live with that.

he's said publically before he'd move to cardiff because his family all still live there and he missed all his kids birthdays last year or something etc etc. he's not going to get regular first team football at city, it's a perfectly sensible move on his part imo.

I assume that he meant Cardiff will only be paying a small part of his overall wage. He is still under contract with City, and they have to pay him whatever Cardiff can't.

I don't know precisely how loans work, but I'd imagine that a player loaned to a small club would accept to be paid less if the two clubs couldn't work out a deal that equated to his pay in his contract for the club he's actually signed to? Maybe I'm entirely wrong with that, but it'd make sense to me at least if they could.

Otherwise I don't get devs' point at all. Why's he a 'stupid cunt' to move somewhere where he's going to get regular football if he's actually going to be paid the exact same as he'd be getting from Man City?
