Chef, 8.5/10. I really really enjoyed this, it's just a nice film.

Watched Frank last night, quite good.

Fassbender puts in a good performance even though he has fake head on most of the film.

Divergent - Recommended to me by several people, but I just fucking hated it. One dimensional characters (Youre intelligent? Youre a malevolent cunt. Youre a soldier? Youre a whooping, thrillseeking dickhole) coupled with wooden as fuck acting and a story that never seems to go anywhere. So much of it is left unexplained and they end on one of those dreadful "see you in the sequel!" endings. Shailene Woodley isnt even attractive enough to have kept my interest going in this film, although her arse is amazing. Soundtrack is good and the cinematography is wonderful at times, but otherwise complete toss. 3/10

Freezer - Man wakes up in an industrial freezer. Russian mob tells him that they want the money back. He protests that he doesnt have their money, so they punch him a bit and leave him to freeze to death. One of those single location movies that either work really well (like Panic Room) or are piss poor. This one works, with the caveat that the main character is so fucking unlikeable that I was kinda hoping the mob would kill him. 6/10

The Act of Killing

Just finished and am quite stunned. I'm not quite sure how to process it. Essential and very tough viewing, it's an incredible documentary.

It's masterpiece of film making, even if it is a documentary it had me hooked.

You almost feel sorry for Anwar at the end, he genuinely seems appalled at what he has done.

The Descendants (yeah, it's taken me this long to watch a film set in Hawaii)

Plot - 2/10
[Some of the] acting - 9/10
Scenery - 9/10 - 1 point deducted for the monstrosity that is the Princeville Resort

And 5 weeks from Sunday I'll be there

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit - Predictable chest thumper. I enjoyed it when it was trying to be a regular action flick rather than another "America, fuck yeah!" film. Keira Knightly was fit as fuck. 6/10

The LEGO movie - I really enjoyed this! It was obviously a kids film, with everything progressing at a ridiculous pace. There was also no real plot to speak of, but I still enjoyed it. The "Everything Is Awesome" song was ridiculously catchy. But as with most Will Ferrell movies.... Will Ferrell spoils it. 7/10

Locke - Man drives car. Man talks on phone whilst driving car. Man discusses concrete with workmates over the phone. Man arrives at destination. The end. Only watchable because Tom Hardy is the star and hes fucking brilliant as usual. The plot is gash though. 3/10

In fact it's an intended and probably low brow reaction on my part to think that all that film was missing at the end was Anwar and every other cunt with sacks over their heads getting fatally baseball batted for ten minutes.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For - 7/10

Weird and ott just like the 1st one, but a good watch. Bonus is Eva Green being naked for pretty much the entire film.

Didn't do the scenery justice, to be honest. But then, they were making a film, not a travel guide, I suppose.

The Possession of Michael King - 6/10

Your typical scary film, some very jumpy bits as you'd imagine. Story isn't bad, atheist makes a documentary on the existence of the supernatural and it goes from there. All very predicable but still not a bad watch if you fancy a horror.

I thought this was a bit slow to start. In fact I nearly skipped half of it, but I stuck with it and as blurr said, a bit of a mind fuck. Especially in the last 20 mins.

Vanilla Sky - 7/10 - pretty out there
Minority Report - 7.5/10 - enjoyable
Donnie Brasco - 7/10 - lost it's way a bit half way, still good
Rambo - 6/10 - good enough

TUS is one of those films that you're told you should find amazing therefore I believe many will say it's amazing even if they found it mediocre. I'm not saying it's bad, just not what everyone makes it out to be.
