SSD pauses?

Hello people,

I seem to have a problem (one of many), i thought SSD is supposed to be the bees knees....sometimes i find when i load quite a few things together, the SSD starts to almost spin faster, screen kinda pauses or at least wont let u click anything, and then make a click noise, then the process can continue.

any ideas or what do i need to provide as info to help?

@ dev : Unplug that and see if it still does it. If it does it then it isn't that.

I think GroovyF is right, it sounds to me that whatever you're storing on the hard drive is relatively infrequently accessed so the operating system is putting it to sleep. When you want something off it, it wakes it up which takes a couple of seconds and makes an audible click.

The other thing to try is to make sure that Windows doesn't turn off hard drives when they're idle.
