Quite right, now that we've folded on those bollocks positions regarding both parallel negotiations and the idea that we'd be able to walk away from our liabilities, what possible reason is there to hold things up.

Before everyone starts complaining about the inflation being caused by Brexit calm down. There's a far more obvious explanation. The Oil price had jumped up. However it's back on the way down now due to America frackers turning on the taps as soon as it was profitable to do so. So 2.9% is likely the peak and it'll start to come back down again.

ONS doesn't agree.

Most of the ONS commentary is about the change in the rate of change month on month (the fall from 2.9% to 2.6%), not why prices have increased by 2.6% vs a year ago.

As I said, the oil price collapsed in 2016.

Over the longer term. 3% inflation isn't that much of an odd amount.

It really didn't.

In addition, if you want to do the 12 months comparison for June '16 to June '17, Brent was broadly flat in $ terms (bit less so when you take into account that depreciation....).

Anyway, good to see that 3% is now nothing to be concerned about when nominal wage growth is sub 2%.

Gosh, paranoid much? Or is it 28 dimensional lawn croquet divide and rule tactics?

Wait perhaps that's the cunning plan? Look so disorganised they think it's a ruse. Then they get so worried they are getting outmanoeuvred and over think themselves into a paranoid paralysis. Panic and ceed to all our demands.

Ah ha! I knew Master negotiator David Davis aka Brexit Bulldog had a cunning plan all along!

Yes, but the uncertainty is troubling. My wife is Dutch, and with my health being iffy, she's rightly worried what might happen if i pop my clogs and she's left with no right to stay.

We're looking into a move to the continent, although it probably won't be the Netherlands. I don't think I qualify at the moment anyway as I'd guess we have to be resident, although we haven't looked into it.
