Buzzing noise

Hello guys, recently been getting a strange buzzing noise from my cambridge works creative labs fps1000 speakers. Had them 4years now any ideas??? Even does this when its muted not sure what it is.

I sometimes get feedback like that and it's due to the microphone vol being too high.
worth a look at least

Tried removing the mic still does the same thing

Sounds like it's electrical interference. Try a different socket, or it may be a sign some part of the circuitry inside is on it's way out.

Ok tried a different socket still doing it. Maybe it is getting on...could use a 7.1 setup anyway. As long as it dosent kill my pc

I had a machine doing this .. ended up being something like line-in or mic volume being too high, even tho nothing was connected

Could also be the audio cable connecting cd to sound card, if you have one .. its more comon to use digital playback now

I had exact same problem - mute volume, and still got buzzing out of speakers or headphones.

Turned out it was electrical inteference from the wire leading to the switch for adjusting CPU fan speed touching the audio leads that came from back of optical drives (CD-RW / DVD-RW), just re-routed wire and it was fine.
