Well, if you set your USB drive up for 'fast removal' in the hardware properties, you never have to worry about ejecting it again!

I decide to try and get some John Bishop tickets for Liverpool. Check his site and his next date in a couple of months is sold out but he's playing here again in December. Great I think - that's ages away, should be loads of tickets available.

Barely any tickets left and none in the good seats ;(

You still haven't told me if this is John Bishop from Croydon

I assume not, since the John bishop I know isn't rich enough to be playing sold-out venues all the time.

While I'm complaining about random things. Why do you need to be over 16 to buy Gaviscon in Asda? I was asked if I was old enough by the checkout lady after prompting by the till last weekend. I accept that I look young for my age but I don't look that young.

I nipped into Morrisons at lunchtime to buy some paracetemol, and as I was in a rush I went to the self serve till, only to have to ‘await authorisation’ to complete the transaction.

Bearing in mind at this point though, that the 16 year old spotty Supervisor who needed to authorise it was off chatting up a chavvy checkout girl, it meant I probably took about 10 times as long on that till than I would have going to an actual manned checkout.

Those automated checkout things drive me nuts when there's someone who lets their four-year-old scan in EVERY ITEM IN THEIR FOUR TONS of shopping while the queue builds up and up

Just found out my current employer is considering offering me to another organisation, based in London. The season train ticket alone will cost 2.5 months' take home pay, it would add around 5 hours of travel to my day and I'd rather eat my own head than live in London.

If I refuse, technically I'll have resigned.

I'm thinking about it - I transferred to my current employer under similar rules (TUPE) about 3.5 years ago. TUPE is supposed to protect an employee's pay, conditions and role. My job changed almost completely (I used to be just a developer, but now I'm Infrastructure Manager, Implementation, Support, former Helpdesk Manager, Security Manager, Quality [HA!] Manager, etc) and my salary has only increased by one below-inflation pay rise a couple of years ago.

Going to drop in at the CAB today - anyone have any experience with them?

Yeah frankly you'll be in a very long queue just to see someone to actually make an appointment and you'll be behind lots of people who need help much more than it looks like you do.

Fortunately, it's quite a small town and I pretty much got straight in. Not much they can advise on though, until the axe swings!

Removing my credit card details from my sons xbox 360 account after using it to renew his xbox live gold membership a couple of months ago.
50 minutes and speaking to 4 different numpties / supervisors before they finally decided the only way to do it was to cancel his membership and email me a code for 12 months gold membership.

Tried doing this "simple" thing online, but you cannot remove the card without first giving them a new credit card number. There is no option to turn off automatic renewal either.

Fuck you in the eye Microsoft and your stupid way of doing things.
