I stupidly told my sister I would sort her sons old laptop out by formatting the sucker and wacking on a copy of windows 7 I had spare. Managed to get windows 7 installed with minimum effort. But I can't for the life of me find the bloody drivers for it (Toshiba's website seems to be dead for downloads).

Any suggestions? It's a Toshiba Satalite L50D-B (PSKULE).

Cheers for any help.

Try going to device manager and choosing update driver on anything that isn't installed properly. What devices aren't working?

@RSC not sure how I get that info
@CT tried that, windows doesn't seem to have them and I can't get it on the web due to no lan or wifi drivers

These are the bits I'm missing : https://www.dropbox.com/s/6zdu8k15wi...ivers.jpg?dl=0

I've sussed out which drivers I need it's just wtf I get them from (apart from the broken toshiba website) here's the info I've gathered so far:

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L50D-B-16R

15/09/2015 USB Driver AMD Windows 7 - 32 Bit 2.0.10.273
15/09/2015 Wireless Lan Driver Atheros Windows 7 - 32 Bit 10.0.0.285.0.s3264_w
15/09/2015 Wireless Lan Driver Broadcom Windows 7 - 32 Bit 6.30.223.201_wCAT
15/09/2015 Display Driver Toshiba Windows 7 - 32 Bit 13.351.1004_140311a-
15/09/2015 HDMI Audio Driver (ATI) ATI Windows 7 - 32 Bit 7.12.0.7718_140114a1
15/09/2015 LAN Driver Realtek Semiconductor Corporation Windows 7 - 32 Bit 7.77.1126.2013
15/09/2015 Bluetooth Filter Driver Package Broadcom Windows 7 - 32 Bit 6.5.1.4900
15/09/2015 Bluetooth Filter Driver Package Atheros Windows 7 - 32 Bit 2.0.26b

easy option is Driver Pack, but i cant advise where to get it, it seems a lot of places it's available but trusting them ...........

to get the ID's right click each device in DM and click the hardware tab, you can then copy the ID into google.

to get the hardware IDs you need to access device manager, then right click on the one with question marks and select properties. Then, choose details and then select "Hardware IDs" from the drop down and it willl give you something like this: HID\VID_1532&PID_0203&REV_0200&MI_02

Google that and you might get lucky. Your mileage may vary though etc

Have you really installed 32-bit Windows? I'll assume not unless you say otherwise.

The card reader and LAN driver is available at www.realtek.com.tw

The graphics/chipset/USB/HDMI driver is available from http://support.amd.com/en-us/downloa...Windows+7+-+64 - get the latest APU driver. Also get the optional driver as that has the HDMI/USB/chipset/SATA stuff.

Windows should take care of Bluetooth and wlan drivers once you're online, although you'll still need to get a proper trackpad driver.

Only half of the memory in that laptop will be usable if you don't nuke it and go 64-bit. According to Google, that laptop has 6GB.

The Bluetooth part will be included in the wifi. Check whether the wifi is Atheros or Broadcom, then get the driver directly from their site.

You'll also need the correct touchpad driver to enable multitouch gestures.

I'd give up on Toshiba drivers too, their site is shit and you'll get more up to date drivers directly from the chip manufacturers. The one exception would be the touchpad driver.

Has hotmail been hacked for anyone? It just tried to auto sync and spat "password has changed" at me. I've had my work .sch account do the same, but that has a 60 day password change reset.

All sorted fella Thanks a lot, you've save my bacon!! Those AMD drivers sorted the stuff (after I went for win7 64 bit) I cobbled together drivers (had to use toshiba website lan and wlan ones as others didn't work) and it all looks good

If you ever have a pet needing biochemistry/bacteriology or a worm egg count/check give me a shout :p

Yes, specially an ST. Anything without that extra poke will be a bit boring I suspect though.

As a man that has owned an ST most definitely. Most fun I've had driving a car... shame I had to sell it a couple of years back

Apparently the newer Fiesta Zetecs have a bit more poke in them now and are fun to drive, but I haven't driven any yet.

About 10 years ago my mate used to have a 1990 Fiesta RS turbo... went like shit off a shovel, noisy too!

Bought for 4,000... sold it for the same despite putting 3,000 miles on the clock.

I love that car.

Our local driving instructor had the bright idea of getting one and doing advanced driving lessons in it, this then lead to everyone using him to pass the initial test in his 1.8D fiesta and then go on to drive the RS. worked a treat

Just had a look for some online... they're going for 5-6K depending on mileage and condition.

Amazing to think a car like that almost 30 years old is going up in value.

Being old, my level of care about "poke" is remarkably limited now but i'll add it to the maybe list

On a similar topic, any other none French, Italian or German cars that would be recommended for a 20 minute commutes to work and to football?

I've got a company car. The company mileage rate is 11p. My car uses 15-16p per mile.

Can I get the difference back through a tax return?

Not sure but unless you're doing travelling salesman miles it doesn't sound likely to be worth your time.
