External email scanning

Hi,

We are currently using Mimecast for our scanning of emails.

Anyone know of any rivals that are just as good / cheaper or a solution that would do the same for less than 800? (40 users).

We used websense mailcontrol who I think are now Forcepoint. No idea on cost.

Any particular reason you are changing or is it just cost based, we've always found Mimecast to be pretty good, we prefer them to MessageLabs and another one we were using that I forget the name of.

Tbh i dont want to change - the renewal price is slightly higher than last year but as a service I can't fault it.

Just making sure that there isn't something else we could use that others rate higher.

Guess we are signing up for another year then

Microsoft's native setup is nowhere near as powerful and flexible as mimecast et al. Stuff turning up in your mailbox remains your problem with EOL/FF.

precisely why microshite can do one and mimecast is better - stops us even getting the shit in the first place so our servers aren't wasting time dealing with it. Plus we aren't using or going to use O365 so its pretty much decided I think.

It's not that MS are shit they just have no interest into diversifying into specialised transfer and security pieces. They leave that to the market and customer choice.
