Blackstar ID:Core guitar combos

Anyone got one? I fancy getting the 20 watt version, the stereo effect sounds great in demos, like a baby Roland JC120

Wouldn't mind hearing some recordings on this...

I'll have a noodle and record it via my webcam. Very wide stereo effect on everything from chorus to delay. £ 125 for this, the 2 x 10w version, is a no-brainer. The 2 x 20w is only another £ 30, but has slightly bigger speakers.

Take a listen to the Andertons demo video.

If anyone hasn't come across Chappers and Lee before, they're honestly not as cunty as they seem at first.

Yeah I like the Andertons guys, always an honest demo.

But, having had digital emulation amps for a few years now, i'm thinking of going back to basics with a valve amp system - this is coming from my work on 50's/60's Hammond organs which are all valve, and I don't like the compression that digital amps invariably have... I don't mind compression/gating as long as I am in control, but a lot of settings are way overdone.

So, I'm looking for a new new valve setup, as I know you have been in the game for a long time via Carlsboro etc. I'd like your thoughts on this, and why you chose this amp.

Not saying this is right or wrong, but I seem to be going back to simplicity to look for tone, and would like your opinion.

Availability and price (I'll be honest, I swapped it for a Squier Strat that I never pick up)
It's stereo, and manages a very close approximation of a JC120 (my favourite combo of all time)
Some utterly rawking crunch tones (the older you get, the more you realise you've been using too much distortion all these years)
The right effects built in (although I'd have liked a compressor, but I can easily afford some cheap pedals)

If the shop had had a Vox VT20, I'd have been tempted, but I'll probably try and pick up a Bugera V5 and bang some pedals into it.
