Signature book advice

Hi Guys. My Father-in-law past away some years ago, and my Wife has been sorting through his things.

One of the things is a signature book with some, not many, signatures in it. We don't know whether to keep it, bin it, give it away, or sell it.

Neither of us know anything about sports really so it's utterly meaningless to us.

Can anyone offer any advice? I've taken a picture of all the signatures....

Bah, can't seem to use img tags to a onedrive...

folder is here.... https://fergusonsuk-my.sharepoint.co...s4rvg?e=sejWCC

It depends, loads of signatures are either fake or auto-signed, which reduces the value a bit. If he received them in person, they could be worth something meaningful (but manage your expectations if it's middle-of-the-road sportsmen). Needs an expert to say really.

Not really expecting much, if any, money. Just don't want him turning in his grave if we throw away something someone would find meaningful!

The only name on those cards that I could decipher and had hits on google was Lionel Smith who was an Arsenal footballer in the 50s. You are going to have to go to a collector to find out if they are worth anything to anyone. Not sure how you would start.

There's apparently all the signatures from an Arsenal team in there somewhere. A specialist auction site reckon's it might get ~120.

Not sure what we'll do with it.

Oh we won't keep it. Options are sell it or give it away to someone in the family who would like it - probably an Arsenal fan.

Probably go for selling it.

Pity it hasn't got Wenger, or Chef may have been interested.

Why not contact Arsenal? It might at least give you an idea of how interesting it is.

I did just that. 13 Arsenal players from the 1948 team.
