Doesnt quite have the same shock value as the first image of The Joker does it? I like the look so far though.

Yes but Bane is Tom Hardy, now fair enough he bulked up immensly for Warrior, but he just doesnt look massive enough there, but then maybe Nolans going more for the psychological effects of venom than the physical one?
Not to mention the sexual dysfunction it causes (Anyone else remember Bane killing all those hookers then carving bats into them, because he couldn't get it up?)

No, but I do remember him breaking Batmans spine and leaving him in a bin.

Maybe that was just in the audio play and the novel then?

I had to watch the trailer for warrior twice before I realised it was Tom Hardy in it, the man's a fucking chameleon, and steroids don't always = huge I suppose. They might've changed the nature of venom slightly so it's more an endurance enhancing pain suppressant with mental sharpening/unbalancing side effects (Bane is meant to be genius level smart remember as a result of venom), than just a cocktail of anabolics and whatever.
I'm just wondering if they will break The Batman in this film, and wether or not he'll recruit a 'replacement' who turns out to be a psycho (waves to Azrael), as long as they drop the godawful stupid Shondra Kinsolving storyline (mental powers anyone? Not likely to be included given Nolan's commitment to realism in the films so far) edit: take image.html off that link, wtf is that sound file all about? edit 2: hmmm encoded hashtags? http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/05/20...ht-rises-site/

I really don't understand how Anne Hathaway got the part as Cat woman. In fact the casting for female roles in the previous two films was pretty poor too. Katie Holmes is obviously terrible and Maggie Gylenhaal isn't much better.

read the comments and despair about people's lack of a FUCKING MEMORY THAT LASTS LONGERS THAN 5 FUCKING MINUTES!
Seriously, the amount of fuckwits who think that trailers real, or the 'genii' who spot the equilibrium clip (but miss Blade 2, Aeon Flux, Death Race 2, etc, etc, etc) and scream FAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEK!!, despite the fact it says 'challenged me to make a trailer for TDKR ' in the fucking description. The fucking rapture shouldve happened to thin out the gene pool of dead weight ffs.

Final one Nolans doing, and lets face it how many villians would actually fit the realistic portrayal of batman Nolans committed to?
Riddler, Black Mask, Deadshot, Firefly (minus the fucking stupid wings he has sometimes), Harley Quinn (but that'd get people who don't know sfa about the universe going 'huh the jokers female now?'), Hugo Strange (serious contender), Maxie Zeus (but he's shit), Victor Zsasz (another serious contender, would give them a chance to do the 'worlds greatest detective' angle which was a bit lacking in the first two films), Penguin (non deformed Burgess Meredith version), Red Hood (NEEDS ROBIN so no Bale), Ventriloquist (again shit)

The Riddler - Would work. Insane genius notices that Batman is more than just a muscle bound vigilante and develops an obsession for testing him. Doesnt have to go all Jim Carrey and green lycra suits to fit. Hugo Strange - Would work as you say Victor Szazs - I seem to remember him being in the first film. I dont remember in what capacity, but I do remember his name being mentioned. But he would be amazing as a bad guy. Penguin - Already been discussed as a possiblity. Again, doesnt have to be the Danny Devito character to work. Just an arms dealer type character. Catwoman - Selina Kyle is already going to be in this movie, but I havent seen confirmation that she is going to be Catwoman in this one? Poison Ivy - Doesnt have to have direct control over plants, but could be portrayed as an obsessed eco hippy using poisons to take over Gotham.

Oh and they did emphasise his detective ability pretty well in The Dark Knight. Dont forget him taking fingerprints from a bullet that had shattered after it hit a brick wall.

lol watched a few of these fan trailers now
some are really blatant (eg how much can you rip from x-men)...and others. well they lift things from the video game intro's etc.... when they lift from aeon flux and catwoman...well that's better as no-one in their right mind remembers anything about these movies...I think I have PTSD from seeing them. only an idiot would watch them again! urrrghk however, I'm hoping someone blends from xmen, to something random to.... that would make my day ![]() ![]() just in case you're not a fan.... http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...4266549234566#

Mr Zsasz was in the first film for all of 10 seconds, he was one of the inmates who escaped - he had scars all over his body. I think that would be possible, but it would be pushing the ratings certificate for a film as Mr Zsasz was an insanely violent serial killer - I doubt that could be adapted to film without losing the elements of his character unless it was rated as an 18/R - something that Warner Brothers are highly unlikely to do. The rest I can realistically see happening, but not on Nolan's watch

I think Nolan's Batmans have been incredible but I don't want to see him or Bale do a fourth. Go out on a high note (hopefully), give it a few years and then think about another Director + Actor doing their interpretation. I can't see how anyone can possibly top Nolan's style but whatever.

Given I grew up in the 70's and was subjected to endless re-runs of the TV series, I just can't help feel that Batman is a bit, well, crap. I never read the comics when I was a kid either.
From some of the characters outlined in here, it seems I missed out on a quite a lot! ![]() I thought the Dark Knight was ok, Bale's growling got on my nerves though...

the 70's batman, which I watched reruns of too
classic camp and a far cry from the dark psychotic undertones of the original concept. not a big batman geek though, not even a decent film geek tbh but I liked burton's first batman outing and nolan's are excellent....except for the bale chainsmokers batman voice

Same here ... I love watching movies, but I really just enjoy them for what they are. I never bother too much with delving into the backstory. A mate of mine is really geeky about the Star Wars films, and will say things such as "Oh well character X, is annoyed with Character Y, since they murdered his father over an argument about Z, which was mentioned half way through episode 1".
I'm like ... errr right ok.
