Hawaii 2012 - fecking sorted at last!

Fucked Expedia off (2 hours trying to explain simple concepts to a wanker in Mumbai. Then he told me the system was slow so he'd call me back in 5 minutes. 45 minutes later, I had to call him, only to be presented with a price that was £300 more than THEIR OWN FUCKING SITE!)

So, booked the international flights on American Airlines site (fucking awesomely easy tbh)
Inter-Island flights direct on their site.
Car hire on 2 islands via rentalcars.com
Hotels on their respective websites

Saved about £ 300 over Expedia prices in total

End of september departure - 5 days on the big island, poking around an active volcano 'n shit - 15 days on Kauai, doing the usual shit we get up to over there

Prime oceanfront rooms (on the beach, basically)

£ 4,000 - which I think is a pretty fucking affordable deal when you compare that to Cyprus and other shit destinations, and when you consider it includes 8 flights.

Part of me thinks it's use airlines generally, although I'm sitting in the airport waiting for a United flight which, overly familiar flight attendants aside, is pretty good. Anyway, I have all sorts of anti-AA rage.

But, more to the point, if AA get you to Hawaii for a bargain price, it's difficult to get too upset.

I know you've done your research TBK, but I still had to chuckle in the memory of an ex-gf's uncle, who arranged a "fantastic secret getaway for his fiancée". He booked a trip to the Maldives all by himself, as he wanted to get each component at their best price, and also wanting a bit of privacy. Turns out he'd booked them onto one of the uninhabited islands, without running water or electricity!

Just a chucklesome update to this. My ex boss has just flown off to some nightmare tourist trap in Corfu for 2 weeks with his wife and 2 kids, and it's costing half as much again.
