I hope they retain the mapsizes of the Crysis mod, MWL. I don't want mech deathmatch arena. There should be scope for a far broader and more tactical game there. I'll let you know when I get beta access.

Oh good linkage. Hoping that's a mid/small map mind. I think they can throw it far wider and make the best of tagged missile lock etc. I essentially want to sit well out of it and lob LRM's at fools.
Pop some more up if he's got em - looks like he's posting them unlisted.

Yeah it looked about that based on the grid size and speed. Shame it's not quite as massive as MWL (Long Tom not much use inside 2000m!) but hopefully gameplay improvements and less bugs will make up for it.

On the beta now - and apparently just in after they nerf the shit out of LRM's
![]() A few things I didn't realise and like; Matches rather than persistent servers - coming from a lot of dota action this is fine by me. Although the beta is currently lacking grouping/team matchmaking which will complete that picture. Heat - DAT HEAT. You really have to pick your moment for multi-strikes let alone alphas. I've tried building out some silly heatsink rigs with limited weapons but the heat still wins. This is a good thing and makes tactics king rather than spamming but I reckon they'll rain back some of the recent changes. Graphics - amazing generally but some work to do on blur/post processing still. Seeing some quite odd things in CQB and no advanced settings in the beta yet. Mech Stable - loving it and the config options (v broad) although I have a feeling four slots (plus another one for max XP) is going to feel pretty tight. At least I hope they allow you to save multiple mech setups within those populated slots.

Don't bother researching the last tier of specialisations for the extra module slot, nersh. it's not implemented yet. Game is in a very unfinished state atm, it's impossible to gleam the stats for any of the weapons from the game itself so i was just fitting stuff blindly until i found a thread on the forums listing the damage, rof, heat etc. of them all. Made it much easier to tailor my mechs so they didn't shut down from overheating the moment i fired.
Really looking forward to playing this with groups, as there’s so much scope for working in tandem to focus fire on specific areas on a mech. Even the big stuff goes down damned quickly if enough people try and core them. HEAT is indeed a bitch, which is why I’ve settled on an ultra-cheesy 7 small laser + 2 medium laser hunchback setup. My personal favourite thing in the game atm is clipping the wings off catapults and then kneecapping them when they're helpless. ![]()

Yeah I'm relying on those matrixes for builds - that's fine though. It's a beta and I'm quite happy to whore the OP weaps until they fix them.

Likewise. Mad\Cat's and all the other Clan goodness are coming next year based on the current timeline. They're aligning days in real-time with today being mid 3049 - meaning that the clans return to the IS next summer and bring all that kit with them. Good idea IMO.

Rainy is my in game name, had a quick blast with one of the pre-built mechs. Fucking love the feel of it, really nailed down the whole heavy robot feel. I need to figure out how to separate weapons into firing groups though. My mouse button seemed to be fire everything at once mode and sending my heat through the roof.

Anyone hitting this fresh - work on the free-to-repair trial mechs until you have c15mill minimum. You can buy a top end mech for less but repairs are quite brutal so leave some reserves.

It's all MP but two teams so you're welcome to gang up and join matches as groups. No co-op campaign at this time but there's little technical reason they couldn't add such content other than the massive amount of extra work it would take to produce.
Wouldn't hold your breath though, I can see them sticking with MP for quite a while and expanding the matchmaking, clanwar, tournament angles long before they bother with any SP/coop. Social+competitive gaming is the way to make money it seems.
