http://www.youhavedownloaded.com/ was a good indicator in the past although it's currently down. could get round it by disabling all trackers but they will likely use other means. isp's have been able to log this stuff for years but couldn't be arsed because of the overheads

There some guy who 'works for an ISP' who was mentioning the abuse emails they get from copyright holders. He said the way around it was to use magnet links. Whatever they are.

Also if you are super paranoid use a seed box or a VPN.
Edit: Infact, given their software requires a connection attempt something as simple as Peerblock would be enough to avoid detection by their science project.
