So I've got these chillies...

Bought from ebay,
10g Naga Bhut Jolokia Chilli Powder
10g Naga Bhut Jolokia Chillies
20g Naga Masala Seasoning

Anyone got any ideas/recipes that I can use them with?
I'm a bit reluctant to just throw them in a pan like I would with normal chillies and powder as I want to try and appreciate any difference they might add.

Or maybe that's the point, maybe they should be a direct replacement.
But how about quantities? I would normally put quite a bit of supermarket chilli/curry powder in a curry but if this is so much hotter what sort of quantities would you use?

Any help appreciated, I know there must be some likeminded curryholics amongst us

It would be purely guess work unless you have used them before m8.
Being so high on the scale id say you wont need much thats for sure!

whilst on the subject I am going to start growing my own, a lad in work said its surprisingly easy and you can even leave them on the kitchen windowledge and they dont even need much water.
Also, the more you pick them the more they grow.

Made quite a big curry with 2 packs of meat.
Lamb and Chicken.
2 chillies, a teaspoon of the chilli powder and a teaspoon sprinkling over both the chicken and lamb of the masala seasoning basically created a plate full of tears and sniffing.
Pity really, not quite what I was after.
Also a pity I made extra, blissfully sitting in the freezer now.

In my experience currys always taste hotter second time round out of the microwave so as you can imagine I can't wait until i've ran out of food and get to warm these bad boys up.....

Two is quite bold atop the powder (although not tried that).

You can get quite a good balance between CS Gas and Actual food by floating one of the peppers in there during cooking with a mellower set of spices in the dish itself. Remove late and you get lots of general heat but no ultra fierce lumps.

Try making some chilli dressing. Oil, garlic, chilli & vinegar. Or a sauce, just replace oil with tomato and blend it with some added onion and bell peppers.

Most chefs using the bhut jolokia literally rub it on meat before cooking to add taste and heat. Try it on a steak or some wings?

You might be able to dampen the heat with remainder by adding cream. Truthfully though, with those bad boys you've thrown in, I doubt it'll make one iota of a difference.

A friend tends to make a chilli con carne but adds different chilli's to the mix at different stages. Some for heat (bhut jolokia) and some for smokey taste (chipotle). For instance he would keep the chipotle in throughout, but the bhut jolokia, he would add for say 10 mins of cooking at the end. In fact some places do these in a sort of tea-bag device to drop into a mix, and then pull out later.
